June 08, 2010

Oris, famous Swiss watch company, recently worked with Australian Marine Conservation Society to save the Great Barrier Reef. To finance this project, Oris launched the Barrier Reef Limited Edition watch. The dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment.

The 47mm watch case, composed of several pieces, is crafted from high quality stainless steel. It is fitted with a screw-in watch crown in same material and a helium valve which helps to maintain a right internal pressure during the diving. The bezel, the deep blue as well, is unidirectional rotatable. And to mark the great partnership, the case back of the watch is embossed with the logo ofAustralian Marine Conservation Society.

The Oris Barrier Reef Limited Edition watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement which provides the reading of hours, minutes and seconds. The small seconds is displayed on a subsidiary dial at 4 o’clock position. And there is a date window at 6 o’ clock position.
